`I’m writing this post as sort of an extension of my previous one about the death of common sense, because this story just makes me shake my head with sadness while wondering what happened to the rational world. If you’ve already heard this story, than I think most will agree that it defies common sense, ands defines our over-reactive mentality these days.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

Being a writer, I tend to stay away from making pubic commentary about politics. Political views don’t sell novels. Obama, however, infuriates me so totally and with such frequency, I decided to write about at least one of my opinions on him. Barrack Obama is a narcissistic blowhard. Not that I think much of his wife, either, but we’ll stick with one egotistical asshole at a time.

In short, it’s the perfect place to set up camp, picnic, and hang out for the day.

While trying to maintain her best poker face, Jesse ran her fingers through her long brunette hair and peeked down with green-brown eyes at her mound of poker chips.

What does the opening day of the baseball season mean to you? Anything other than just another season of high-paid athletes strutting their stuff on the ball field? I guess your answer may depend on your age. Today’s youth have much more to occupy their time and attention. Their heroes appear in highly visual movies and video games. Their activities are more sedentary and solitary than what kids did forty or fifty years ago. The world changes, but is it for the better?

Something is very wrong, eleven-year-old Jack Bucher thought as he absently climbed into the freezing backseat of the waiting car. This car feels like a cold tomb. Something terrible is about to happen.
