Typical of any weekday evening, I was watching news the other night when they gave their version of a hero. They were doing a story on a group of women whom they were calling heroes. Their reasoning was that these women had all suffered heart attacks, and now they were running in a 5-K race to raise awareness about heart disease. I thought: “Heroes? Really? With all our Medal of Honor recipients and war veterans, you’re rating a group of women who are running to save their own lives as heroes?” What a loud of steaming crap!

Following the Oregon State shooting, I thought Obama showed his usual narcissistic lack of intelligence and infinite nativity. Similar to the TMartin case, his first public reaction was: “That could have been me or one of my daughters.” Yeah, like your two daughters would go to a JC like Oregon State. Even if they did, I’m sure the taxpayers would be paying a fortune for an army of security agents to protect your spoiled brats from being approached by anything more dangerous than a cold virus.

We cancelled Comcast this week, and there was much rejoicing. We didn’t do it because we were paying them more than we were paying the Feds in taxes or because their customer service sucks, although those were contributing factors. What finally threw me over the edge is the unoriginal crap they put on TV these days, and the fact that we were paying Comcast to see it. We had to call it quits when I saw they were going to put on another Living Dead show. Whoever writes that crap must be a member of the cast, brain dead. I mean, c’mon, the original Dawn of the Dead was made 37 years ago, and all they’ve been able to come up with is four sequels, and a few crappy TV shows. They have yet to change the plot. Maybe it’s the viewer’s lack of intelligence. If people didn’t pay to see this stuff, they’d stop making it, but I doubt it. The best bet is for me to confine my TV experience to news, sports and weather, but even that’s depressing. Last night’s news was that one of my elderly mother’s comfort keepers was stabbed to death and dismembered by her 44-year-old boyfriend. Fortunately, he was caught. Unfortunately, he likes beating women, and was not shot on the spot. (No, the pope’s visit didn’t make me feel forgiving, only bored to tears with all the coverage).

Funny, but it took a discussion with my son the other day to remind me of one of the main reasons I write, the thrill of the new idea. First, there’s the excitement of coming up with something new and original. Then there’s the intrigue of figuring out all the details of the plot, the characters, and any twists

I’m not a social person. In fact, if not for years of playing team sports, I’d probably have the social skills of a sea slug. Due to my social inadequacies, I hate being trapped in situations, like having my hair cut, when I’m forced to talk to someone. Invariably, I’m forced to talk about something which I don’t care to discuss, and I don’t like to lie to avoid uncomfortable topics.

As a brief reminder for those who forgot or for many that didn't know.
Here is what happened, quietly, on January 1, 2015:

1. Never take a beer to a job interview.
2. Always identify people in your yard, before shooting at them.
3. It is considered tacky to take a cooler to church.
4. If you have to vacuum the bed, it is time to change the sheets.
5. Even if you are certain that you are included in the will, it is still considered tacky to drive a U-Haul to the funeral home.

     I DIOT SIGHTING
I handed the teller @ my bank a withdrawal slip for $400.00

I said "May I have large bills, please".

She looked at me and said "I'm sorry sir, all the bills are the same size."

When I got up off the floor I explained it to her.
